The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has an approved list of items that can be packed in your checked luggage or brought on board in your carryon bag. Please contact TSA at 1-866-289-9673 or visit the TSA website.
Hazardous materials are forbidden
Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years' imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124). Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radioactive materials. Examples: Paints, lighter fluid, fireworks, tear gases, oxygen bottles, and radio-pharmaceuticals.
Otherwise, certain items may not be packed in checked luggage, such as e-cigarettes, vaping devices, or spare lithium batteries.
Travelling with prescription drugs?
Please carry your medicine in the bag you bring onboard. Allegiant does not accept liability for the loss or delay of medicine in checked baggage. Read the TSA guidelines for clarification on traveling with liquids and medication.
Bringing an e-cig, vaping device, or other electronic smoking equipment?
Federal regulations prohibit the carriage of electronic smoking devices in checked baggage. Passengers may transport such devices on their person or in carry-on baggage; however, such devices may not be charged onboard the aircraft, nor may they be used.
How do I transport spare lithium batteries?
Spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries must be carried in carry-on baggage only.
- Spare batteries must be protected from damage and short circuit (i.e., the terminals must not come in contact with other metal)
- Protection methods include: leaving the batteries in their retail packaging, covering battery terminals with electrical tape, using a battery case, using a battery sleeve/pocket in a camera bag, or putting them snugly in a plastic bag or protective pouch.
